Craftsman rolls out the first mower with a completely enclosed engine, key-lock self-starter, an automatic blade clutch to prevent stalling, and a hand-controlled blade brake.

Wally Parks, founder of the National Hot Rod Association, presides over presentation of the Craftsman Championship Dragster Kit. Each of the 64 class winners receives a 120-piece Craftsman tool kit.
