Q. My great-grandmother saw an engraving in the early 1900s in a Sears catalog that resembled J.F. Herring’s painting Pharaoh’s Horses. Could you tell me when that engraving appeared and any other information you have?

A. This particular engraving appeared in the spring 1902 Chicago edition catalog, on page 768. The text and picture in the catalog listing are the only pieces of information we have on this item, and the catalog description does not indicate any artist or title for the work.
