The legion of people who have worked for or with Sears includes
leaders in business and government, as well as Hollywood and
sports stars. Sears' executive rolls boast an impressive resume
of philanthropy, political service, and support of the U.S.
military in wartime. In this section, we offer biographies of
four Sears luminaries: its founders, Richard W. Sears and
Alvah
C. Roebuck, and two of their successors, Julius Rosenwald and
General Robert E. Wood, who ushered Sears into the modern age of
retailing.
