Q. My son’s 35th birthday is coming up, and my present to him was my old shotgun. I bought a Winchester Model 37 shotgun from the Sears catalog around 1939 or 1940. When I gave him the shotgun, I thought I’d also give him the original ad as a keepsake. Can I get a copy of the ad from Sears?
A. The Winchester Model 37 shotgun was featured in several catalogs during the 1930s and 1940s. The fall 1939 Chicago edition catalog advertised the 12-, 16-, and 20-gauge models among several other shotguns on page 952.
