Q. As a kid in the 1970s, I remember my parents showing our old vacation movies on a projector that had its own screen. I have inherited many of these films and would love to show them to my kids on the same kind of projector. Do you know where I could go to find one of these?

A. Unfortunately, we can’t point you in a direction to buy one of these old slide projectors. However, we did find a projector similar to the one you describe on page 1110 of the spring 1975 Chicago edition catalog. Perhaps an image of the original projector will help you in your search. The projector, which originally cost $148.95, allowed viewers to watch films either on its own screen or projected (as regular movies).
