Q. I recently purchased a Sears cookie press and a cake decorator 19-piece aluminum set. Can you tell me what year this was sold? The box looks like it dates from the 1950s or 1960s.

A. We believe we found your item on page 908 of the spring 1956 Chicago edition catalog. The set included a cookie press with "10 forming plates and pastry tip … plus aluminum cake decorator with 6 assorted design tips." The set originally sold for $2.29.
