Q. I have an old tool. Can you tell me how old it is?
A. Researching hardware and power tools in the catalogs is extremely difficult. Many of the “standard” tools have changed little over the years, new and “improved” tools were added all the time, many of the catalog pictures were tool small to show details, the descriptions are often difficult to translate into catalog pictures during research, and many of the subtle changes are not obvious to non-collectors. When researching tools, we suggest you use local and online tool collectors clubs, including the Craftsman Club.
