Sears introduces Kenmore dishwashers and portable dishwashers.

Kenmore becomes the No. 1 seller of automatic washers, just five years after introducing them.

Kenmore adds a delicate cycle to washing machines for new synthetic fabrics.

Sears introduces Kenmore Turbo-Matic, the first washer-dryer combination. An all-electric model is $379.95, and an electric wash/gas dry model is $419.95.

The 10 millionth Kenmore is sold.

Sears introduces the Wash ‘N Wear cycle on Kenmores with automatic shut-off for dryers, a built-in washer filter, and an automatic bleach dispenser.
